Character: The Cairn Terrier is affectionate and eager to learn. It is lively, intelligent, and playful.

Temperment: This dog needs to be socialized early with cats and other household pets. Occasionally it will fight other dogs.

Coat: Double-layered, consisting of a topcoat that is hard and abundant and a soft, short undercoat.

Care Regular grooming with a brush and comb is required. Dead hair should be plucked by hand biannually.

Colour: Any color except white

Comments: Todays dog, although still strong and agile, is peaceful and tractable. Superb athletes, always eager for a romp. Needs a firm hand. Wonderful people dogs and long-suffering with children. .
